Ekweremadu’s Wife Returns To Nigeria After UK Jail Term
Enugu, Nigeria – Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has returned to Nigeria after completing her prison sentence in the United Kingdom.
A source confirmed to DAILY POST on Wednesday that Mrs. Ekweremadu arrived back in the country on Tuesday.
Mrs. Ekweremadu, along with her husband and Dr. Obinna Obeta, were convicted in a UK court on charges related to organ harvesting.
Senator Ekweremadu received a 10-year sentence, while his wife received a six-year sentence.
News of Mrs. Ekweremadu’s return is being met with celebration in her home state of Enugu, where many are expressing hope for Senator Ekweremadu’s own imminent release.
Prayers are being offered for his swift return to Nigeria. The details surrounding the circumstances of her release have not been publicly disclosed.
