African Aviation Growth, Focus As WUCO Hosts International Air Transport Conference In Abuja
ABUJA, THE NEWSHAUS – The World United Consumers Organisation (WUCO) is planning an International Air Transport Conference in Abuja, Nigeria, on November 20-21, 2024. The event, titled Air Transport in Africa: Prospects and Challenges, will bring together key aviation stakeholders to discuss the current state of Africa’s air transport industry and potential solutions to its challenges.
WUCO President, Clement Osuya highlighted significant barriers to growth in Africa’s air transport infrastructure, such as high costs, technical difficulties, and legal complexities.
“These roadblocks impede progress and necessitate immediate action,” he said.
Osuya highlighted the importance of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in facilitating the seamless movement of people and goods across the continent.
The conference aims to foster collaboration among stakeholders, providing a platform for discussions, expertise sharing, and addressing key challenges.
Supported by the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, the Federal Airports Authority, and the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, the event will feature participation from major Civil Aviation Authorities across Africa.
They will work towards creating a more efficient, safe, and reliable air transport system in the region.
“Africa’s air transport industry has immense growth potential, but realizing this potential requires a collective effort,” said Osuya.
“This conference will serve as a vital platform for stakeholders to collaborate in creating a more efficient, safe, and customer-centric air transport system in Africa.”
Registration for the conference is open, with discounted rates available for early registrants until October 31. For more information, visit the WUCO website.
