OHA NSULU UNITY FORUM Celebrates Dr. Ogbonna Collins Nwabuko’s Professorship
Ebonyi State, Nigeria – The OHA NSULU UNITY FORUM extends heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Ogbonna Collins Nwabuko on his recent promotion to Professor of Medicine at the David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences in Ebonyi State.
Professor Nwabuko specialises in Public Health and Palliative Care Haematology.
The prestigious appointment comes after a distinguished career in academia and medicine.
Professor Nwabuko received his MBBS from the University of Benin, MPH from the University of South Wales (UK), and PhD in Public Health Haematology from UNICAF University.
He also did a postdoctoral fellowship in haematology at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Lagos.
His impressive academic credentials are supplemented by fellowships from several prestigious organisations, including the American College of Physicians (FACP), the Medical College of Pathologists (FMCPath), the Royal Golden Assembly of Eudoxia Lifetime (FRAEL), and the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (FIMC).
Professor Nwabuko’s teaching career spans more than two decades. He began teaching at the University of Port Harcourt during his Haematology residency in 2006, and later worked as a Lecturer-1 at Abia State University from 2011 to 2019.
He was an honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Calabar from 2020 to 2023, before being promoted to Associate Professor.
Even as an Associate Professor, he tutored at the Universities of South Wales and Buckingham in the United Kingdom.
His commitment to research is reflected in his extensive publication record, which includes 106 peer-reviewed articles in both national and international journals.
The OHA NSULU UNITY FORUM recognised Professor Nwabuko’s significant contributions to the body of scientific knowledge.
The Forum’s statement ended with the Professor’s expression of gratitude: “To God Alone Be All the Glory.”
