Rivers State Governor Celebrates 50th Birthday Amidst Accolades, Political Intrigue
Port Harcourt, Rivers State – Sir Siminialayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, celebrates his 50th birthday on January 28th, 2025, with prominent APC leader Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze providing a unique perspective on the Governor’s rise to power and early accomplishments.
In a press release, Chief Eze praised Governor Fubara, calling him “a man of wisdom, political strategist, silent achiever, and God’s tool for the restoration of Rivers State.”
The statement, issued on January 27th, described the Governor’s election as a divinely orchestrated event, implying that those who contributed to his victory were unaware of the larger, God-ordained plan.
Drawing a parallel to the biblical account of Judas’ betrayal of Jesus, Chief Eze claimed that former Governor Nyesom Wike and his associates would not have supported Fubara’s candidature if they had known he would succeed in restoring ‘the Glory of God in Rivers State’.
This assertion implies a complex political dynamic and a degree of unintended consequences in the previous administration’s actions.
Chief Eze emphasised Governor Fubara’s accomplishments in a short period, particularly the prevention of financial leaks and an increase in state revenue.
He praised the Governor’s “multi-sectorial accomplishments” and called him a “personification of courage with a rare touch of grace.”
The statement concludes with a call for continued support from the people of Rivers State, urging them to help Governor Fubara restore the state’s reputation as the “Treasure Base of the Nation.”
Chief Eze, a member of the APC Legacy Projects Media Team and a former National Publicity Secretary for the defunct nPDP, wished the Governor success in his future endeavours.
The press release provides a highly symbolic and faith-based interpretation of Governor Fubara’s career trajectory, raising questions about the political manoeuvring that led to his election, as well as the ongoing relationship between the current and previous administrations.
While celebrating the Governor’s personal achievement, the statement also provides an insight into Rivers State’s current political landscape.
