Obi Donates Another N20 Million to Faith Nursing College, Nsukka
Nsukka, Enugu State – Mr. Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party Presidential candidate, has once again demonstrated his commitment to education by donating an additional N20 million to Faith Nursing College in Nsukka.
This generous contribution follows a previous N20 million donation made when the college was facing significant financial difficulties.
Obi’s most recent donation, made to Very Rev. Aloysius Ezeagbo, was motivated by the Bishop’s vision and commitment to providing quality healthcare education in the region.
Obi reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that improve learning opportunities, particularly in critical sectors such as healthcare.
Bishop Ezeagbo praised Obi as a “courageous and exceptional leader” with a strong commitment to education. He emphasised that Obi’s support goes beyond philanthropy, demonstrating a strong belief in education’s transformative power.
The Bishop stated that the renewed investment will allow the college to significantly expand its academic programs and infrastructure.
Bishop Ezeagbo claims that the donation’s origins were divinely orchestrated.
He described how his brother, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Most Rev. Dr. Godfrey Onah, first mentioned the nursing school project to Mr. Obi at a wedding in Enugu. Obi was impressed by the project’s potential and immediately pledged his support.
The Bishop expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Obi’s unwavering commitment, noting that the first donation was critical in overcoming significant financial challenges.
He added that the second contribution will provide the necessary boost for the institution’s long-term growth and development.
The donation will help future healthcare professionals develop the skills they need to effectively serve the community.
The event ended with a photo of Mr. Obi presenting the cheque to Bishop Ezeagbo.
This act of generosity strengthens Obi’s reputation as a prominent philanthropist committed to improving educational access in Nigeria.
