Gregory University Uturu Inducts 76 New Doctors May 28, Marking A Milestone In Medical Education
Gregory University Uturu (GUU) is preparing to mark a watershed moment in its commitment to medical education with the upcoming induction ceremony of 76 newly qualified medical doctors.
The prestigious event, which will induct the university’s third batch of medical professionals, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28th, at the Goodluck Jonathan Auditorium on campus.
This announcement, made official by Mr. Vincent Malik, the University Registrar, represents a significant accomplishment for the institution’s College of Medicine and its ongoing commitment to producing competent and ethical healthcare professionals.
“We are extremely proud to be sending these 76 individuals into the medical field,” said Mr Malik.
“They have received extensive training and demonstrated the dedication and intellectual ability required to succeed in this demanding profession. We are confident that they will have a significant impact on the healthcare landscape in Nigeria and beyond.”
At the induction ceremony, graduates will take the mandatory induction oath, which will be administered by officials from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
This oath expresses their commitment to upholding the highest standards of medical ethics and providing compassionate care to future patients.
The MDCN’s presence demonstrates the university’s commitment to national standards and ensures that graduates are officially recognised as licensed medical practitioners.
The high number of female graduates adds to the significance of this year’s graduating class.
According to the Registrar’s statement, 47 of the 76 inductees are female, outnumbering the 29 male graduates.
This statistic reflects an increasing trend of female participation in medicine and demonstrates the university’s commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for all aspiring medical professionals.
The upcoming induction ceremony is expected to draw a large crowd, including the inductees’ families and friends, university faculty and staff, MDCN representatives, and members of the public.
The Management of Gregory University Uturu has extended a warm invitation to all who wish to witness this historic event.
“This induction ceremony is not just a celebration of academic achievement, but a recognition of the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice these young doctors have made over the last several years,” stated Rev. Sleek Ogwo, Deputy Registrar, Communication Media Unit of Gregory University Uturu, in a press release.
“We invite the public to join us in celebrating their achievements and welcoming them into the medical profession.”
Gregory University Uturu’s consistent production of qualified medical professionals is significantly helping to alleviate Nigeria’s doctor shortage.
The university’s emphasis on practical training, combined with a solid theoretical foundation, ensures that graduates are prepared to face the challenges of modern medicine.
This latest induction ceremony reaffirms Gregory University Uturu’s position as Nigeria’s leading medical education institution, as well as its commitment to shaping the future of healthcare.
