Ogbaru Youth Empowered With ICT Skills, Laptops By Rep. Afam Ogene

No fewer than  50 youths from Ogbaru Federal Constituency in Anambra State received a significant boost to their futures this past weekend, thanks to Hon. Afam Ogene, their representative in the House of Representatives.

Following an intensive Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training program, the youths were empowered with laptops and cash grants.

This empowerment initiative marked the fourth phase of Hon. Ogene’s human capital development program within the last five months.

Previous phases focused on training in solar energy technology, clean cooking, and fishery, demonstrating a commitment to diverse skill development.

Each phase has included starter packs and cash support to help participants launch their ventures.

The ICT training, held at Ruchem Hotel, Iyiowa-Odekpe, equipped the participants with valuable digital skills. Hon. Ogene explained that the cash grants are intended to further their ICT knowledge and contribute positively to the local economy.

The lawmaker, represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Chinedu Uwolloh, emphasized that the program is a key component of his economic development strategy for Ogbaru.

Okolonkwo particularly highlighted the impact of receiving a laptop, a long-held dream now realized thanks to this initiative.

Hon. Ogene, also the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Renewable Energy and leader of the Labour Party Caucus in the National Assembly, acknowledged the support of High Chief Mac-Chris Ndubuisi for the constituency.

He stressed the program’s aim is not just to provide assistance but to empower individuals to become self-sufficient and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
