IPoB Lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor Celebrates 50th Birthday Amidst Acclaim From Ozekhome, Others

Abuja, Nigeria – Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a prominent Nigerian lawyer known for his representation of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), celebrated his 50th birthday this week to a chorus of praise from various quarters.
The celebrations highlighted Ejiofor’s reputation as a courageous and unwavering advocate for human rights and the rule of law.
The Indigenous People of Biafra, in a statement signed by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, lauded Ejiofor’s “vibrant and courageous” defense of IPOB members, particularly his role in securing the release of numerous incarcerated members. Powerful highlighted Ejiofor’s fearless representation of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a feat achieved even amidst significant personal risk. The statement emphasized Ejiofor’s commitment to pro bono work and his incorruptibility.
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), legal luminary Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, and Barrister Prince Uche Darlington Okeke also offered their felicitations. Chief Ozekhome, in a detailed tribute, described Ejiofor as a “bubbling and effervescent young man” whose dedication to justice and unwavering commitment to human rights have earned him widespread respect. He recounted their collaboration in the defense of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, praising Ejiofor’s resilience and tenacity in the face of considerable threats.
Barrister Obioma Ezenwobodo, former Chairman of the NBA Garki branch, added his congratulations, acknowledging Ejiofor’s advocacies and humanitarian work. Barrister Okeke also praised Ejiofor’s unwavering commitment to justice and the IPOB cause, emphasizing his selfless service and impact on the lives of many.
To mark his 50th birthday, Ejiofor plans a visit to an IDP camp near Games Village Estate, Abuja on January 24th, distributing gifts to those in need. This act of charity will be followed by a thanksgiving service at the Basilica of Grace Church, Gudu District, Abuja on January 26th. The celebrations underscore not only Ejiofor’s personal milestone but also his enduring commitment to social justice and the defense of human rights in Nigeria.
