The letter, signed by the NUC’s Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, was addressed to both the Proprietor and Vice-Chancellor of Novena University and confirms the successful outcome of the recent accreditation exercise conducted by the regulatory body.
This landmark achievement means that students enrolled in the following programs at Novena University can now pursue their studies with complete confidence:
Medicine and Surgery
Pharmacy
Law
Computer Science
Cyber Security
Software Engineering
Information Systems
Information Technology
Biochemistry
Microbiology
Mass Communication
Sociology

Telecommunications Technology is the only program currently holding interim accreditation, pending further assessments.
The full accreditation of both Medicine and Pharmacy programs further validates the earlier positive assessments received from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) in 2024, confirming the university’s adherence to the highest professional standards.
This triumph builds upon previous accreditation successes. In 2024, Novena University secured NUC accreditation for vital programs such as Nursing, Public and Community Health, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Doctor of Optometry, Accounting, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, and Intelligence and Security Studies.
This consistent track record underlines the university’s unwavering commitment to quality education.
Established in 2005 as the first private university in Delta State, Novena University has consistently demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, evidenced by its continued achievement of full program accreditations.
The university also holds NUC approval to offer postgraduate degrees (PGD, MSc, MBA, and PhD) in several of its accredited programs, broadening its academic reach and fostering research and innovation.
“There is nothing more soothing than seeing the positive results of one’s endeavours,” said Professor Godwin Nduka, Vice-Chancellor of Novena University, expressing his satisfaction with the NUC’s decision.
He attributed the success to the institution’s highly qualified teaching staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and the dedication of the university community. “Our students can now study with complete confidence, knowing they are part of a fully accredited institution.”
Dr. Emmanuel Odishika, the university’s Director of Information and Public Relations, called the achievement “the perfect gift” to all stakeholders as the university prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary in June 2025.
“This full accreditation is the best anniversary gift we could ask for,” he remarked, “It reflects our hard work, vision, and dedication over the past two decades.”
Novena University’s consistent commitment to excellence has produced graduates who have excelled globally, often from pioneering programs introduced into the Nigerian university curriculum.
This accomplishment reaffirms Novena University’s position as a leading provider of private higher education in Nigeria, encouraging prospective students to seek a reputable institution dedicated to upholding high academic and administrative standards.
As the university embarks on its next chapter, it stands poised to continue shaping global achievers with its fully accredited programs and unwavering commitment to excellence.
