Julius Berger Celebrates 795 Staff At Long Service Awards Ceremony
Abuja, Nigeria – Julius Berger Nigeria Plc held a lavish ceremony on Saturday to honor 795 employees for their long and loyal service to the company.
According to Managing Director Engr. Dr. Peer Lubasch, the event, which featured pomp and pageantry as well as traditional dances, commemorated a legacy of unwavering loyalty.
Lubasch praised the staff, describing them as “a bundle of inspiration” and the driving force behind Julius Berger’s remarkable expansion and significant contributions to Nigerian development.
He emphasised the strong Abuja presence, with 537 (68%) of the awardees residing in the capital city, emphasizing their critical role in the company’s success.
“Your resilience, expertise, and passion define who we are,” Lubasch said, urging employees to stay committed to the company’s shared values of collaboration, courage, responsibility, and excellence.
Alh. Dr. Abdulaziz Kaita, Director of Administration, echoed these sentiments, describing the event as an auspicious occasion to honour exceptional dedication and loyalty.
Kaita’s speech had personal significance because it marked both his 35th anniversary with Julius Berger and the start of his new role as Director of Administration on January 1st, 2024.
He praised Lubasch’s leadership abilities and thanked the company’s unions, CCESSA and NUCECFWW, for their collaborative efforts, particularly in negotiating the NJC agreement.
The awards recognised employees who had reached various milestones, including 134 for 10 years, 269 for 15 years, 71 for 20 years, 298 for 25 years, 13 for 30 years, and 10 exceptional individuals for 35 years of service.
Awardees expressed profound gratitude for the opportunity to work at Julius Berger, with many expressing a desire to continue contributing to the company’s success.
The event demonstrated Julius Berger’s dedication to its employees and their invaluable contributions to the company’s ongoing growth and Nigeria’s infrastructure development.
