NDDC offers condolences to Akwa Ibom governor

IKOT EKPENE UDO, – The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has extended its condolences to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, following the passing of his wife, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno.

According to Seledi Thompson-Wakama, Director, Corporate Affairs, a delegation from the NDDC, led by Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, visited the Governor at his hometown to offer their support and sympathy.

The delegation, which included Executive Director of Projects Sir Victor Antai and the NDDC Board member representing Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Abasiandikan Nkono, expressed shock at the news of the First Lady’s death.

Dr. Ogbuku conveyed the commiserations of the entire NDDC, including Chairman Mr. Chiedu Ebie, who was unable to attend.

“We are here to tell you we are with you in this moment of grief,” Dr. Ogbuku stated. He described the loss as a collective one for the community, village, and the entire Niger Delta region.

“The visit, he emphasised, underscored the NDDC’s commitment to supporting the people of the Niger Delta in both times of joy and sorrow, reiterating the Commission’s dedication to sustainable development and improving the lives of its citizens.

Governor Eno expressed his gratitude for the NDDC’s gesture, noting that the visit held significant meaning during this difficult time.

“It makes a strong and significant statement to me,” he said, appreciating the commission’s show of solidarity.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing a strong partnership with the NDDC on projects beneficial to Akwa Ibom State, expressing hope that their next meeting would be a more celebratory occasion.
