Defence Minister Calls For Robust Support For Nigerian Military At Kano International Trade Fair
Kano, Nigeria – The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has issued a strong call for increased support for the Nigerian Military in its ongoing fight against insecurity.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 45th International Trade Fair organised by the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA), the Minister emphasised the inextricable link between security and national development.
In a statement signed by Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, the Minister highlighted that improved security is paramount to fostering economic prosperity.
He reiterated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and stability across the nation, urging Nigerians to continue supporting the government through prayer and maintaining confidence in the security forces.
He lauded the military’s dedication to achieving these crucial goals.
Minister Abubakar’s presence at the event held special significance, given his background as a former National President and current Lifetime National Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
This reflects his deep-seated commitment to fostering economic growth and his longstanding relationship with KACCIMA, underscoring his dedication to advancing trade and industry within the Kano region.
The trade fair attracted a significant number of dignitaries, including representatives from the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, the Governor of Kano State, and prominent business leaders from both Nigeria and internationally.
The event served as a platform for promoting economic cooperation, attracting investment, and advancing the diversification of Nigeria’s economy through the promotion of non-oil exports.
Minister Abubakar commended KACCIMA for their commitment to organizing the annual trade fair, emphasizing its importance in strengthening Nigeria’s economy.
He underscored the critical role of non-oil exports in achieving national diversification goals and called for collaborative efforts to fully harness Nigeria’s substantial export potential.
The Minister’s participation highlights the trade fair’s role as a key catalyst for economic growth, innovation, and international business collaborations, further cementing Kano’s position as a vital commercial and industrial hub in Nigeria.
