NOA Seeks ENWAF Partnership To Re-Emphasise National Values In Bayelsa
From Mgbo Nnachi in Yenagoa
Bayelsa State – The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has reached out to the Eunice Nnachi Women Advocacy Foundation (ENWAF) in a bid to bolster value reorientation and promote respect for national symbols within Bayelsa State.
During a recent visit to ENWAF’s office, NOA representative Mrs. Grace Olobio highlighted the critical need for citizens to embrace core values such as honesty and discipline to build a stronger society.
Mrs. Olobio emphasised the importance of returning to traditional values, stating, “We should go back to the values that have kept us as individuals and families.
Our values are very important; we need to hold on to them. We cannot behave anyhow because we want to survive.”
She underscored the significance of respecting national symbols – the flag, anthem, and pledge – as representations of Nigerian identity both domestically and internationally.
The NOA representative also outlined the government’s commitment to ensuring equality, democracy, and an enabling environment for entrepreneurship, while emphasising the need for citizen participation through the adoption of moral values like discipline, duty of care, tolerance, and transparency.
ENWAF’s Chief Executive Officer, Lady Eunice Nnachi, welcomed the collaboration, pledging the foundation’s support in sensing women, particularly those in grassroots communities.
She highlighted the importance of value orientation and expressed ENWAF’s willingness to participate in sensitization campaigns focusing on value reorientation, birth registration, and government policies.
Enhanced media engagement was also suggested to broaden awareness.
Mrs. Juliet Uyabara, Vice Chairperson of ENWAF, echoed this sentiment, urging NOA to leverage media and other stakeholders to maximize the reach of their sensitization efforts.
The partnership between NOA and ENWAF aims to cultivate a stronger sense of national identity and ethical conduct within Bayelsa State.
