APC Bigwig Denounces ‘Recycled False Narrative’ Against Amaechi, Calls It A ‘Hoax’ And ‘Fickle Imagination Of Political Grandstander’
Port Harcourt, Nigeria – Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), has vehemently refuted a recent report circulating in some media outlets alleging that former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi regrets joining and helping to build the APC.
Eze, a close confidant of Amaechi, described the report, attributed to a shadowy figure named “Mr. Ibe,” as a “hoax” and a “recycled false narrative,” likely concocted by political adversaries seeking to damage Amaechi’s reputation.
In a statement released on November 4th, Eze emphasised that Amaechi never had any media interaction with “Mr. Ibe” and never authorised anyone to release such a statement.
He asserted that the report was strategically embellished with seemingly valid points to deceive the public, but ultimately lacked any credibility.
Eze pointed out that the report, which claimed Amaechi was unhappy with his ministerial position and the lack of support within the APC, was a fabrication designed to portray Amaechi as dissatisfied with the party and open to joining another political group.
He stressed that Amaechi has openly criticised the current APC government for its handling of the economy and the hardship it has inflicted upon Nigerians but that this criticism does not translate to regret over his involvement with the party.
Eze further highlighted the pivotal role Amaechi played in the APC’s victory in the 2015 presidential election, stating that Amaechi’s commitment to the party has always been unwavering.
The APC stalwart also denounced the “media irritants” and “hate campaigners” responsible for circulating this fabricated report, urging them to cease their “infantile indulgences.”
He emphasised that Amaechi’s unwavering commitment to the APC, despite its internal challenges, remains undeterred.
Eze stated that Amaechi is currently focused on establishing a think tank to develop a governance agenda for the APC, aiming to recover the party’s vision and restore it to its founding principles.
He urged the public to be patient as Amaechi’s vision for a revitalised APC will be unveiled in due course.
The statement from Eze underscores the ongoing political manoeuvring within the APC as Nigeria heads toward the 2023 general election.
The recent false narrative against Amaechi, a prominent figure within the party, highlights the intense competition for political influence and the lengths to which some will go to discredit their opponents.
