NSCDC Elevates 544 Officers To Enhance Security, Protection Of Critical National Infrastructure
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command has promoted approximately 550 officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to improve security and protection of critical national infrastructure in Abuja.
The Commandant of the FCT Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, stated at the decoration ceremony for the 544 officers with new ranks on Friday at the FCT NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja that achieving a new rank is a call to greater responsibility.
He maintained that officers’ promotions and decorations were in recognition of their performance during their promotion examinations and the need to ensure career progression, which he believes will benefit the officers.
The FCT boss challenged all promoted officers to be professional in their lines of duty to justify their promotion.
Odumosu stated that the Commandant General, Dr. Abubakar Audi, has been magnanimous in promoting 544 officers, adding that “to whom much is given, much is expected.”
He stated, “The mandate of the corps to protect critical national assets and infrastructure must be taken even more seriously,” adding, “You must step up on your commitment to protecting government assets and infrastructure under my jurisdiction.”
Samuel Idoko, Command Public Relations Officer, has been promoted to Assistant Commandant of the Corps (ACC), making him a prominent member of the newly promoted officers.
Dignitaries attended the event, including Lt. Col. MA Yusuf, the commander’s representative from the Guards Brigades of the Nigeria Army.
Mr. Rasheed Dopemu, Director of the Department of State Services, FCT Command, is represented by Sqd. Ldr. A. Bashir of the Nigeria Air Force, Mogadishu Barracks.
The Commandant of the Federal Fire Service, FCT Command, HRH, the Etsu of Kwali, Ayode Luka Nizassan III, District Head Mabushi, Garki Chiefdom Hon. Hassan Danagna Mabushi, and the Chairman of the Kwali Area Council were also present.
