NSCDC To Establish World-Class Counter-Terrorism Command Centre In Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art Counter Terrorism Communication Command and Control Centre (CT-C4) at its National Headquarters in Abuja.

The initiative, lauded as timely and crucial in the fight against terrorism and other forms of insecurity, was marked by a groundbreaking ceremony.

Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo commended NSCDC Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Audi for the initiative, highlighting its importance in combating both domestic and international threats.

He praised the leadership of the Commandant General and pledged the Ministry’s full support.

Ja’faru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Immigration, Fire Service and Correctional Service Board, echoed the Minister’s support, urging the NSCDC management to ensure the project’s timely completion.

Representing the Commandant General at the ceremony, Deputy Commandant General (DCG) Ibrahim Ningi emphasised that the CT-C4 aligns with the NSCDC’s strategic goals of leveraging advanced technology to protect lives, property, and critical national infrastructure.

He stated that the centre would serve as a hub for communication, coordination, and intelligence sharing, enabling faster response times and more precise counter-terrorism operations.

Ningi highlighted the significance of the project, saying, “The establishment of the CT-C4 signifies a bold step in our collective resolve to combat terrorism and insecurity within our borders.”

The project has already secured significant private-sector support. Mr Benedict Aliku, CEO of Equipping the Needy, along with partners Mr Judd Saul, Mr Mark Danner, and Mr Steve Fisher, pledged their commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the centre.

The Commandant General expressed gratitude for their involvement, citing it as a demonstration of their commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s security architecture.
