NSCDC Makes Career Progression Courses Mandatory For Promotion, Says Audi
Dr. Ahmed Audi, Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has announced that career development courses will now be required as a prerequisite for personnel advancement.
The Commandant General made this known during his keynote address at the NSCDC Cooperative and Investment Society’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the National Headquarters in Abuja this year.
He maintained that all NSCDC training institutions have received a new phase lift, and the training curriculum for all cadres has been developed and is currently awaiting full implementation.
The CG also stated that his administration is committed to ending stagnation in the Corps for personnel on grade level 14 and below; he explained that beneficiaries have been paid in arrears and thanked President Bola Tinubu for all of his support, while tasked Corps personnel to justify the gesture through hard work.
Concerning staff welfare, the NSCDC helmsman, who is the society’s grand patron, praised the National Headquarters executive for their programmes in providing succour and palliative care for members and warned that misappropriation of funds in the society will not be tolerated and will be sanctioned appropriately.
Speaking earlier, the President of NSCDC National Headquarters Cooperative Society Limited, Assistant Commandant of Corps, ACC Aina Oladeji Jones, thanked the CG and Management team for all of their assistance to the cooperative during their four-year tenure, citing the completion of 90 houses and ongoing work on some at the Kuje Housing Estate.
Continuing, he stated that the society’s membership has increased from 1500 to over 1,800 and that a philanthropist has pledged to help fund the Streamview Hotel and Resort Project until it is completed.
The AGM also included the delivery of goodwill messages by Segun Salako, Deputy Director of FCT Cooperative, and CSC Okechukwu Edward, a representative of Corrections Cooperative Multipurpose Limited, as well as the distribution of cheques to retirement beneficiaries and next of kin of deceased NSCDC members in the Cooperative and Investment Society Limited.
