Eze Condemns Gang-Up Against Ndume, Says It’s An Affront On nPDP Bloc
- Tinubu’s Silence On The Matter Described As Betrayal Of Trust
Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and All Progressives Congress chieftain, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has said that the unwarranted punitive measure imposed on Sen. Ali Ndume by the Godswill Akpabio-led Senate and APC’s NWC amounts to waging a political vendetta against the former Senate Chief Whip for conveying Nigerians’ thoughts on the perilous economic crisis that has engulfed the country.
Senator Ndume expressed concern in an interview with Arise TV last Thursday about President Tinubu’s lack of action in addressing poverty, insecurity, hunger, and other pressing issues that threaten Nigeria’s very foundation.
However, in a swift response, the APC, in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, removed the outspoken Senator as a principal member of the Senate and asked him to resign from the party and join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, or any other opposition party.
Describing Ndume’s ordeal as unjust, Chief Eze stated that his removal as Senate Chief Whip marks a watershed moment in the country’s brewing tensions, which have been exacerbated by the Tinubu regime’s policy shifts and general instability, as well as validating concerns that the administration is clueless and grossly overwhelmed by the problems it has created for the country.
He stated that, in addition to belonging to the class of chieftains who risked life and fortunes to build the APC from the ground up, Ndume has been vocal on issues of national concern, which is the fulcrum around which his status as a legislator palpitates, and as a party that prides itself as a bastion of hope for Nigeria and Nigerians, one would have loved to see the APC leverage on Ndume’s revelation to set in motion efforts that would help the Tinubu regime navigate itself out of
Eze described Senate President Godswill Akpabio as a sycophantic puppet who is vindictive of anyone who speaks the truth about the Tinubu government and the reality of his incompetence, and he urged Nigerians to begin identifying those who have presented themselves as stumbling blocks to the country’s progress.
The APC Chief praised Ndume for his bravery and urged him to remain undeterred and in high spirits, assuring him that Nigerians have seen the sincerity of his heart and are solidly behind him at this difficult time as the country grapples with poverty, hyperinflation, and hunger, all of which are notable legacies of the Tinubu administration.
