Richter Says Security Sector Vital To Smooth Operation Of The State As Julius Berger Donates Security Vehicles To Lagos
Dr. Lars Richter, Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, stated that the security sector is critical to the smooth operation of any country because it keeps the people’s affairs together.
Mr. Lucky Agbajama, Security Manager, Region West of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, spoke on behalf of the Managing Director when he made the donation to the state government on Monday.
He also stated that Julius Berger is donating the five Hilux vehicles to support the Lagos State Security Trust Fund on the security of lives and property.
Disclosing that the decision was made following a breakfast meeting between the Managing Director and Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu; during that meeting, the Managing Director was briefed on the establishment of the Trust Fund, to which notable organisations and individuals were invited to participate as voluntary stakeholders.
My Managing Director promised to make a significant donation to the Fund. What we are witnessing today is a manifestation of that pledge, according to the Security Manager.
After receiving the documents and keys to the five vehicles from Julius Berger, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor, Mr Sam Egube, who represented his principal, thanked the leading engineering construction company for the kind gesture, saying, “On behalf of His Excellency,
The Governor of Lagos State, I thank the Managing Director of Julius Berger.” I would also like to thank the company for this gesture.
Without a doubt, this will strengthen our state’s security. I thank you very much for this, and we hope to receive more support from you in the future.
Dr. Abdulrazaq Balogun, Executive Secretary/CEO of the Trust Fund, thanked the company for the donation, stating, “We, too, are grateful for this unexpected donation.”
As a result, we must promise that the Trust Fund will immediately put them to full use. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude, and we look forward to further assistance from Julius Berger.
Mrs Mobolaji Ogunyemi, and Mr. Habeeb Olawale were also present at the event as members of Team Julius Berger, in addition to the Security Manager.
It should be noted that in 2020, Julius Berger made a similar donation to Ijebuland’s Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona, to improve security in his kingdom, a gesture that was greatly appreciated not only by the monarch and his chiefs, but also by his kinsmen and subjects.
