Lagos Gears Up For Transformative 35th Kingdom Life World Conference
By Roland OGBONNAYA*
As 2025 slowly grinds to an end and a sense of anticipation fills the air, Lagos is poised to host the 35th edition of the Kingdom Life World Conference (KLWC), the flagship event of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM).
Scheduled from November 23rd to 30th, 2025, this eight-day spiritual odyssey promises to be an extraordinary experience of faith, empowerment, and fellowship, drawing attendees from across the globe.
Reverend Ugochukwu Ezeagwula, Chairman of the 2025 Planning Committee, aptly describes KLWC as a spiritual “festive season,” a homecoming for the global TREM community. “It’s a conference that brings together over 200 chapters, or what you call branches, across the world.
“It brings together everybody from all around the world,” he explains, radiating enthusiasm for the event’s unifying power. “Beyond the internal community, we also invite people from all across the city and beyond.”
For Reverend Ugochukwu, KLWC is more than just a responsibility; it’s a deeply personal connection to his past. “The interesting thing is that I grew up attending Kingdom Life,” he shares, a hint of nostalgia in his voice. “So it’s very humbling that today I am the chairman of the planning committee and this took my mind back to my early days when I was in school.
“I attended Command Ikeja; So I know for some of us who were in school, who were TREMITES, we will always look forward to Kingdom Life because it’s our festive season. So every day after school, we are walking down here. So it’s a conference that has stayed, and it has impacted a lot of generations.”
TREM stands as a beacon of transgenerational influence, and KLWC serves as a crucial link, connecting seasoned wisdom with youthful zeal. It’s a unique environment where the experiences and perspectives of different generations converge, creating a tapestry of shared faith and purpose.
Each year, KLWC draws a distinguished roster of speakers, and 2025 will be no exception. The conference will be graced by the presence of the revered Presiding Bishop of TREM, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, and the esteemed Bishop Peace Okonkwo, whose leadership has profoundly impacted countless lives. Joining them are prominent spiritual figures, including Dr. Mensa Otabil of ICGC, Accra Ghana, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Bishop Tudor Bismark from Zimbabwe, Bishop Wale Ajayi of the Church of God Mission, and Pastor Flourish Peters from Logic Church.
“We have had amazing speakers speak to us in the past, it has been very impactful,” Reverend Ugochukwu affirms. “We call it a life-changing conference. There is a lot of testimonies that have come out of the conference.”
KLWC is carefully designed to cater to a diverse range of needs and interests. “One of the things I tell people about KLWC is that there is something in it for everybody. Every generation, every demography, there’s something in it for everybody,” Reverend Ugochukwu emphasises.
A pivotal component of KLWC is the Big League Summit, conceived from the vision of Bishop Mike Okonkwo. This summit is a catalyst for raising “apostles in the marketplace.” Reverend Ugochukwu elaborates, “As the name implies, we are trying to raise apostles in the marketplace, people who are going to play in the Big League. Of course, the more righteous people that are economically self-sustaining, the more society is impacted.
“Money in the hands of a godly man will do much more than money in the hand of somebody who is not godly.” Running from Monday to Wednesday mornings, the Big League Summit fosters ethical leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and the integration of faith into the professional world.
On Friday evening, the atmosphere will resonate with divine energy as the Zamar Concert unfolds – an all-night spectacle of worship and praise. “The Zamar Concert over the years has been a very major feature of the Kingdom Life World Conference,” Reverend Ugochukwu shares. “It’s going to be an atmosphere of worship and an atmosphere of praise. And we have leading artists that will perform, name all the major gospel acts in Nigeria.
“They’ve all graced the stage of the Zamar Concert before and they are coming this year too. Talking about Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, talking about even Tim Godfrey; these are people that have graced the platform of Zamar, Mercy Chinwo and the likes.” The Zamar Concert is not simply entertainment; it is a transcendent experience, a collective expression of devotion that creates an unparalleled spiritual connection. “What stands Zamar out from other concerts is that it’s a period of unbridled worship,” Reverend Ugochukwu adds.
Recognizing the inherent link between faith and commerce, KLWC introduces the Gbagada Shopping Festival, a vibrant marketplace designed to foster economic exchange within the community.
“Where you have close to 20,000 people coming together, you know, whether it is for worship or anything, it’s also an avenue for commerce,” Reverend Ugochukwu explains. “There’s going to be an exchange of value beyond the worship, beyond the word and beyond this, people are going to eat.
“You know somebody would want to buy some consumables. And so we want, we are creating an ecosystem where value is, you know, value stays.”
The festival, coinciding with the peak sales period of Black Friday, promises unbeatable deals and a stimulating environment for both vendors and shoppers. “It’s the first of its kind in Gbagada,” Reverend Ugochukwu proudly proclaims.
“A lot of people that have seen it and said, oh, this is a novel idea. This is beautiful. How come none of us have thought about this?”
A testament to TREM’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of worshippers is the remarkable children’s mass choir. With over 1,200 children participating, this choir is believed to be the largest in Nigeria, if not Africa.
“We have the largest children’s mass choir in Nigeria, and if not Africa, we have a mass choir of over 1,200 children. So this season gets the children excited. They are already rehearsing.
They come in almost every weekend. They are rehearsing. And on the last day of the conference, it’s a showcase for them. It’s beautiful, it’s colorful.
It’s wonderful. So like I said, there is something in it for everybody. Kingdom Life is a festival in all respects, in all ramifications.”
The theme for KLWC 2025 is “Uncommon,” derived from 1 Peter 2:9: “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar nation.”
The theme serves as a potent reminder that believers are set apart, equipped with unique gifts, and destined for extraordinary achievements.
“It’s just reinforcing the fact that, look, you are not like every other person,” Reverend Ugochukwu expounds. “You have a seal, you have an anointing, you have the grace upon your life, you know, and you do uncommon things, you know.
“It takes an uncommon person to achieve uncommon things. It takes an uncommon atmosphere for uncommon miracles to happen.”
The impact of KLWC extends far beyond the conference grounds. It is a catalyst for lasting transformation, personal growth, and divine inspiration.
When asked if the conference’s objective has been achieved over the years, Reverend Ugochukwu responds with unwavering conviction: “Beyond doubt, the objective of the conference has not just been actualised, but it has been surpassed. Because at the end of the day, what do you say is the objective of a conference? It’s to transform lives. That’s it. And lives have been transformed.”
He cites his own life as a living testament to the conference’s transformative power, as well as the countless testimonies received year after year. From career breakthroughs to miraculous healings, the stories of lives touched by KLWC demonstrate the power of faith, community, and divine intervention.
Organising an event of this scale requires meticulous planning and unwavering dedication. Reverend Ugochukwu assures that every effort is being made to ensure a seamless and secure experience for all participants.
Security is a top priority, with a multi-layered approach that includes intelligence gathering, enhanced lighting, a comprehensive camera system, and collaboration with government agencies. Traffic management is also a key focus, with efforts to expand parking spaces and engage traffic control authorities.
As the countdown to KLWC 2025 continues, Reverend Ugochukwu extends a heartfelt invitation to all who seek spiritual enrichment, marketplace empowerment, and a profound sense of community. “If I’m not at Kingdom Life 2025, I’m not at Gbagada Festival 2025, I’m not at the Big League 2025, what would I miss?” he asks rhetorically.
“Where have you been? That’s the question, where would you say you have been in 2025? You went through 2025, you are opportune to be in Lagos and you are not at Kingdom Life World Conference where you will have an opportunity to be a part of the Big League Summit, be a part of the Zamar Concert and of course the Gbagada Festival.
“Look at how one week is feature-packed. One week, this is eight days, fully feature-packed. You can’t come here and it’s a dull moment, right? And then not to talk about the great apostolic impartation that’s going to happen during that conference.”
The Kingdom Life World Conference 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience, a convergence of divine purpose and human potential, a testament to the enduring power of faith to transform lives and shape destinies.
It is a call to embrace the “Uncommon” within, to step into a realm of limitless possibilities, and to experience the extraordinary grace that awaits.
