Eboh Bomb Announces 15th Anniversary Celebration
As if it were yesterday, October 26, 2025, will mark 15 years since the renowned Nigerian comedian, Michael Oghenerukevwe Eboh, also known as Eboh Bomb, first took to the stage, embarking on his journey into the world of laughter.
Fifteen years of challenges and triumphs later, the mainland of Lagos State is set to come alive as the Urhobo comedian from Delta State commemorates his decade and a half in the entertainment industry.
A grand celebration is scheduled for October 26th at the ultra-modern Zigi Lagos Lounge, located on Zukada Close, off Shasha, Akowonjo, Lagos, starting at 5 pm.
“Why celebrate my 15 years as a stand-up comedian? Because it has been 15 years of ups and downs, and we are still standing strong,” Eboh Bomb stated in a press release from his management team.
Eboh Bomb’s career took off when he won Ayo Makun (AY)’s comedy talent hunt competition 15 years ago. “Since then, I’ve been doing my shows. After a successful run on AY Live, hosted by my mentor, AY, I produced my first solo show in 2019, titled ‘Explosives,’ in Festac, Lagos, Nigeria. I organised another edition in 2021 in Benin, Edo State, and hosted a second edition of ‘Explosives’ in 2024 in Lagos.”
Beyond making people laugh, Eboh Bomb believes he has a responsibility to address social issues through his comedy. “I am a professional Nigerian comedian whose goal is to bring joy to people through creative jokes on stage, television, and online.
“However, while making people laugh, I use my jokes to shine a light on societal ills. That’s what makes my jokes unique.
“For example, when I tell a joke about Nigerian landlords, people laugh, but they also gain insight into how landlords behave.
“The joke aims to encourage negative behaviours to change as well as inform the government authorities to step in to curb their excesses. That’s the kind of comedian I am.”
The event, tagged ‘Eboh Bomb Live: 15 Years On Stage,’ promises a star-studded lineup featuring both established and rising music and comedy acts.
“Danfo Drivers, Konga, Lyta, African China, Mr. Dolor (who broke the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up performance at 60 hours), and many more will be part of the show.
“My mentor, AY, has promised to show his support, and the father of Nigerian comedy, Ali Baba, who is always there for younger comedians, will likely attend, as he has done for others in the past.
“I assure you that October 26, 2025, will be a day to remember not only in Lagos but across Nigeria.”
‘Eboh Bomb Live’ will be the first major event hosted at the newly renovated Zigi Lagos Lounge. “Zigi Lagos Lounge is arguably the best lounge, dance restaurant, and hotel & suites with event venue on the mainland of Lagos right now, and I am thrilled that the management has agreed to host my 15th-anniversary celebration,” Eboh Bomb said.
According to the comedian, the reception from potential sponsors and supporters has been promising. “Zigi Lagos Lounge is our partner, and we have other sponsors as well.
“However, there is still time for other corporate bodies and brands to join us,” he concluded.
