PAP Deploys 161 For Foreign Postgraduate Scholarships As Otuaro Calls for Niger Delta Support For Tinubu
Dr Dennis Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has expressed deep gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his strong support of the agency’s recent deployment of foreign postgraduate scholarship recipients.
Otuaro stated that PAP has sent 161 postgraduate scholarship beneficiaries to universities in the UK for the 2024/2025 academic year.
He also expressed appreciation to National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for his invaluable input and guidance throughout the process.
Otuaro attributed the significant number of beneficiaries deployed abroad to pursue studies in various industry-relevant programs to the President’s support and generosity.
He urged stakeholders in the Niger Delta to support President Tinubu and his re-election bid in 2027.
Otuaro emphasised that the President has demonstrated a genuine commitment to the region and deserves reciprocal support in 2027.
Previously, the PAP office organised pre-departure briefings in Abuja for two groups of beneficiaries of the foreign postgraduate sponsorship program.
Otuaro noted that PAP’s “decision for this large-scale deployment aligns with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his genuine concern for the people of the Niger Delta.”
He explained that the President is aware of the human capacity development gap in the region and the need to address it, empower the people, and stimulate socio-economic growth and development.
According to Otuaro, consistently deploying a large number of scholarship recipients, both within and outside the country, can significantly reduce the region’s human capital development gap.
Otuaro further stated, “I am eternally grateful to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his gracious support of the Presidential Amnesty Programme as we deploy foreign scholarship beneficiaries for this academic session.
“Without the President’s magnanimity, it would not have been possible to send 161 beneficiaries to universities in the UK.
“This significant number aligns with His Excellency’s Renewed Hope Agenda and reflects his unwavering commitment to the Niger Delta.
“I am equally thankful to the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for his consistently invaluable guidance and supervision, which provides us with significant assistance.
“I am highly encouraged by the President’s support for our formal education and vocational training initiatives, as well as his strong desire for the socio-economic growth and development of our region.
“I believe that by consistently deploying a substantial number of scholarship recipients both domestically and internationally, we can decisively address the issue of the human capacity development gap in our region.”
The PAP head reiterated his call for all scholarship beneficiaries to take full advantage of this opportunity, successfully complete their programs, and return home to contribute to the development of the region and the country as a whole.
