Air Peace Denies False Claims Of Passenger Mishandling Following Flight Delays
Air Peace airline has issued a strong denial of allegations stemming from a viral video depicting purported passenger mishandling on flight P47123 from Abuja to Lagos on December 20, 2024.
The airline described the video as “false, mischievous, and misleading,” attributing its creation to “faceless individuals” aiming to damage Air Peace’s reputation.
The video, circulating widely on social media, falsely portrays an incident during passenger boarding.
Air Peace clarified that significant flight delays were caused by severe harmattan haze and fog, impacting visibility and flight operations across the country.
To mitigate passenger disruption, the airline deployed three aircraft to Abuja to evacuate passengers.
According to Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, the situation at the boarding gate became overwhelmed as passengers rushed towards the aircraft.
This prompted ground staff to establish barricades in front of the motorised steps to manage passenger flow and differentiate between flights.
“While we empathise with our loyal customers who experienced delays,” Dr. Ndiulo stated, “we strongly condemn the misinformation, insults, and deliberate falsehoods disseminated in the video.
” Such representations do not reflect our values or operations. There is no truth in the allegations.”
Air Peace stressed that passenger and crew safety remains its paramount concern.
The airline reiterated its commitment to maintaining safe and timely operations while regretting any inconvenience caused by the weather-related delays.
The airline urged the public to disregard the information presented in the viral video and directed anyone seeking further information to contact them via email at callcenter@flyairpeace.com.
