Why Fubara Drops Commissioners, Acknowledges Their Contributions
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed his appreciation to the members of his cabinet for their contributions to the state’s development over the past two years.
Fubara conveyed his gratitude during a valedictory session held for his cabinet and at an event marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary at Government House in Port Harcourt.
The governor emphasised the importance of Nigeria’s Independence Day, urging all citizens to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the state with renewed vigour and thanked the citizens for their support.
Fubara also announced the immediate termination of appointments for all commissioners and public officers.
He stated that this action was in compliance with a recent Supreme Court judgment concerning their appointments.
He directed those relieved of their duties to hand over all government property to the most senior officials in their respective ministries and agencies.
