Nigerians, Not Propaganda, Will Determine Tinubu’s Performance, Re-Electability In 2027, TMSG Tells ADC
The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as unqualified to speak on behalf of Nigerians regarding President Bola Tinubu’s performance and prospects for re-election in 2027.
According to the TMSG, the ADC has yet to demonstrate its credibility as a viable alternative to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, and Secretary, Dapo Okubanjo, the TMSG asserted that the Nigerian people, who entrusted President Tinubu with their mandate in 2023, are best positioned to evaluate his administration’s performance at the end of his first four-year term.
“It is increasingly farcical to see a collection of failed opposition figures, masquerading as the African Democratic Congress (ADC), attempting to speak for Nigerians on virtually every political issue,” the statement read.
“Many of these individuals have a long history of unsuccessful bids for elective office or squandered opportunities.
“They now give the impression that they can speak for the same voters who have consistently rejected them at the polls under their previous parties.
” Even the person who crafts the ADC’s statements has no record of winning any election.
“Therefore, we find it surprising that these individuals are essentially threatening a government that has barely been in office for 28 months but has already taken significant steps to stabilise the economy and is steadily steering the country towards sustainable growth and development.
“We recall that the ADC, in its first electoral outing, performed abysmally in the bye-elections held in states where some of its key leaders claim to have political strongholds.
“To be clear, bye-elections were conducted across 13 states and 16 constituencies in August 2025, yet the ADC failed to win a single seat, even in Kaduna, Adamawa, and Anambra states, which were considered the political bases of former Governor Nasir el-Rufai, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former Governor Peter Obi, respectively.
“Predictably, the party claimed that the bye-election results did not reflect its true strength as a coalition platform of opposition leaders.
“However, we view the party’s posturing as the height of deceit by a group of politicians who are not only out of touch but have also been politically decimated by the ruling party in their respective states.
“It is our belief that the President Tinubu administration has, in two years, accomplished much to stabilise the economy and will continue to work for the Nigerian people in the lead-up to the 2027 election, to secure a second term in office,” the statement added.
The TMSG urged Nigerians to disregard attempts by opposition elements to misrepresent the Tinubu administration and to judge the President based on his campaign promises when the time comes.
