Amaechi’s Legacy Shines Brighter Amidst Wike’s ‘Hatred’, Says APC Chieftain
Port Harcourt, Rivers State – Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has praised former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his dedication to the state’s well-being despite political differences with incumbent Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
In a recent statement, Eze said that Wike’s “demonstration of hatred” for Rivers State, specifically his 2015 dissolution of elected council chairmen and councillors, has only highlighted Amaechi’s “goodness and greatness.”
He cited Amaechi’s decision not to block Rivers State’s Local Government Area allocation despite the political turmoil, emphasising that the former governor prioritised the state’s interests even as Minister of Transportation under President Buhari.
“Despite the dissolution of the council chairmen and councillors, no one was killed, no property was destroyed, and no court decision halted the LGA allocation,” Eze stated.
He also stated that Amaechi received a significant 98 billion naira refund from the Federal Government for federal roads built during his tenure as governor.
Eze claimed that Wike has yet to provide an account for this substantial sum, further emphasizing Amaechi’s commitment to transparency and the development of Rivers State.
The APC chieftain concluded his statement with a fervent prayer for Amaechi, thanking God for his “child” and praising his achievements as “one of the best from Rivers State.”
This statement is likely to further fuel the ongoing political rivalry between the APC and the PDP in Rivers State.
While Eze’s words are a clear endorsement of Amaechi, it remains to be seen whether this will have any significant impact on the upcoming elections.
