AFCON: Super Eagles 23-Man Squad Against Libya Hits Uyo Camp on Monday
The Super Eagles, who are preparing for their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying doubleheader against Libya, will assemble in Uyo camp on Monday with caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen’s 23-man squad.
The squad is a mix of experienced and emerging talent, with familiar names like captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, and Alex Iwobi leading the way.
The inclusion of promising young players such as Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru demonstrates Eguavoen’s dedication to developing a squad for the future.
Victor Osimhen and Olisa Ndah are two notable absentees from the squad, both of whom have injuries.
The loss of Osimhen, the prolific Galatasaray forward, will hurt the team’s attacking capabilities, while Ndah’s absence will leave a hole in the defensive line.
The Super Eagles will face Libya twice, starting with the Mediterranean Knights on Friday, October 11th at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
On Tuesday, October 15th, they will travel to Benghazi to play the second leg at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium.
With pressure mounting on the team to qualify for AFCON 2025, Eguavoen and his squad will be looking for strong performances against Libya.
These crucial matches will put the team’s resilience and adaptability to difficult situations to the test.
