Akase Promises To Build On Successes Of Gov. Ortom on Security, Others

Terver Akase, a top contender for the 2023 governorship ticket on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has said that if given the opportunity, he would build on the successes of Governor Samuel Ortom in the security sector.

Akase, who is the immediate past Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Ortom disclosed this while consulting with the people of MINDA (Masev, Ihyarev, Nongov Development Association) on his aspirations in Makurdi on Friday.

While speaking with the MINDA PDP Elders Forum in the area, he observed that the insecurity in Benue calls for concern and if given the mandate, he would work towards checking the state of insecurity in Benue.

He also promised that other areas he would focus on, as governor, would be agriculture, job creation, education, and infrastructure, adding that the people would not regret giving him their mandate comes 2023.

Akase who sought the blessings of the people of the area asked MINDA to also appoint some of their notable sons and daughters that would assist him as he embarks on the journey of seeking the position.

He explained that the support of MINDA was paramount, having worked closely with their son, Governor Samuel Ortom, adding that, he was fully aware of the challenges confronting the state and would build on the successes recorded by the present administration to drive the development of the state.

Akase appreciated the people of the area for the huge support and prayers offered by Governor Ortom from which he and other appointees of the Governor have been beneficiaries.

Samuel Utoo, Chairman, MINDA PDP Elders Forum who responded on behalf of the stakeholders hailed Akase for the initiative to consult with MINDA, even as he assured Akase of their blessing as he traverses the state to canvass for the people’s support to his guber ambition.

Other speakers at the occasion among them Iorwase Ahire for Masev, Sebastine Mom for Ihyarev, and James Dav for Nongov commended the sterling qualities in Akase who they said served their son Governor Ortom diligently at very difficult moments in the last six years.
