NLC Protesters Besiege NASS, Demand Four Months Of N35,000 Wage Award, Others
Thousands of protesters stormed the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Tuesday, protesting, among other things, the country’s current hardship as a result of the removal of fuel subsidies.
They enthusiastically sang “Akpabio, come to our aid,” “Solidarity Forever,” and other songs as they were drawn from various ministries, departments, and agencies.
They arrived in buses and motorcycles, carrying placards that read “Please pay our four-month wage awards,” “Stop the injustice in the Public Complaints Commission,” and other messages.
As of the time of filing this report, no member of either chamber of parliament had addressed the protesters.
