How Bridge International Academies Celebrated World Teachers’ Day
Bridge International Academies, an education organisation has joined the global community in celebrating World Teachers’ Day (WTD) across its 46 schools in Lagos and Osun states.
The school also said that the day serves as an emotional reminder of the key role teachers play in nurturing young minds and building the foundation for a brighter tomorrow.
A statement by Olamide Oni, Manager, Communications – Bridge Nigeria, said that teachers as educators continued to inspire and shape the future of the nation and should be encouraged to continue to deliver their best to society.
The statement quoted Foyinsola Akinjayeju, the Managing Director of Bridge Schools in Nigeria, as reiterating the commitment of the school to ensuring that its teachers continued to receive the support they deserved.
Akinjayeju said: “Every teacher we support is equipped with a tablet, which we also call ‘teacher computers.’ This invaluable resource allows our teachers to download teacher guides for over eight hours of engaging lessons a day—up to two weeks in advance.
“This innovative approach liberates our teachers from the demands of extensive lesson planning, enabling them to channel their passion into what they love most—teaching.”
In addition, Omotola Francis-Akinlolu, the Director of Schools at Bridge Nigeria, emphasised that professional development was one of the ways Bridge assisted teachers.
Francis-Akinlolu insisted that the school believed in the power of ongoing training, improved resources, and ongoing support, emphasizing that its teachers benefited enormously from a wealth of professional development opportunities before they were even assigned to classrooms, workshops, and access to a vast array of teaching resources.
“We are dedicated to helping our educators grow and excel in their profession, which ultimately benefits their pupils,” Francis-Akinlolu added.
Bridge International Academies, according to Francis-Akinlolu, is unyielding in providing caring and supportive classrooms, stating that it has taken a strong stance against physical punishment, ensuring that classrooms are places of respect and understanding.
The Director of Schools noted that by developing teacher-student interactions, they had created an atmosphere in which pupils could prosper intellectually and personally.
World Teachers’ Day is a major occasion to recognize the hidden heroes who shape our nation’s future leaders.
Our teachers are the heart and soul of Bridge International Academies, and we are immensely proud of the dedication and passion they bring to the classroom every day.
“As Bridge International Academies celebrates World Teachers’ Day across all 46 schools in Lagos and Osun, we salute the exceptional teachers who dedicate themselves to the noble cause of education. Their commitment to nurturing young minds is an inspiration to us all,” the statement added.
