North Central Women Denounce Critics Of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, Affirm Her Patriotic Commitment
North Central Women has condemned recent criticisms levelled at Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, particularly those made by Prof. Mgbeke and APC South-South Organising Secretary Mr. Blessing Agbomhere.
In a press statement issued Friday in Abuja, the North Central Women Front (NCWF) vehemently dismissed Prof. Mgbeke’s remarks as “mad imaginings, deception, and fantasy,” referring to him as a comedian.
“It is amazing that male politicians in Nigeria are resorting to dishonest tactics to fight women,” the statement, signed by NCWF Chairperson Mrs. Mary Adamu, said.
The group also chastised the Senate’s leadership for what they see as poor handling of the situation, claiming that the six-month suspension (presumably of a Senator, though not explicitly named) has placed Nigeria in a “dilemma” and brought “ignominy” upon the country.
They urged the Senate leadership to take action to improve the situation and protect Nigeria’s reputation.
The women praised Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for her resilience and dedication to representing her constituents in Kogi Central, highlighting her “unwavering commitment to the improvement of the Kogi Central Senatorial District.”
They specifically acknowledged her contribution to Nigerian history.
Furthermore, the NCWF chastised Mr. Fidelis Ella, Executive Watch Dog’s spokesperson, for “advertising his ignorance” in his criticisms of the senator.
They described Prof. Mgbeke, Ella, and Agbomhere as “parrots and bootlickers of anti-democratic forces,” implying that their criticisms are motivated by personal gain.
“Unstable people can destroy anyone for a political appointment, contract, or petty cash,” the statement claimed.
The women dismissed allegations of a malicious agenda, a “dirty game of propaganda and destruction,” and a plot to topple the Yoruba government and destabilise the country as “foolish talk.”
“Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is guided by patriotic commitment,” the statement read.
Finally, the NCWF urged supporters of the Senate President and a former ministerial nominee not to plunge Nigeria into further “confusion,” condemning “intolerance, lies, perversion of truth, and crazy ideas.”
The statement reflects North Central women’s strong support for Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, as well as their condemnation of unjust and politically motivated attacks against her.
