Zulum, Bago Condole Katsina Governor Radda Over Mother’s Death In Makkah

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has paid a condolence visit to Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, following the death of his mother, Hajjiya Safra’u Umaru.

The elder stateswoman passed away in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night at the age of 93.

Professor Zulum, accompanied by Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, arrived in Katsina on Sunday to express their sympathies to Governor Radda and the Umaru family.

Hajjiya Safra’u was laid to rest on Sunday in her hometown of Radda Village, Katsina State.

During the visit, both Governors offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

Professor Zulum extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Radda, acknowledging the deep loss felt by the entire state.

Hajjiya Safra’u Umaru has been described as a true Fulani matriarch who lived a life dedicated to upholding values of integrity, perseverance, and community service.

Those who knew her said she inspired them with her strength and dedication. Her legacy extends far beyond her immediate family.

In addition to Governor Radda, Hajjiya Safra’u is survived by other children, including the Village Head of Radda, Alhaji Kabir Umaru Radda, and Hajiya Hauwa Umaru, former wife of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

The passing of Hajjiya Safra’u Umaru has been met with widespread mourning and tributes from across the country, reflecting the high esteem in which she was held.
