Reekado Banks and Wizkid Reunite Years After Public Feud
After years of tension, Reekado Banks and Wizkid have finally put their differences aside. The award-winning artists were recently spotted sharing a meal at a Lagos restaurant, a moment that quickly sparked speculation about whether their once-strained friendship had been fully restored. Videos from the gathering, which also included rapper Shallipopi, began circulating online, showing the Ojuelegba hitmaker and Reekado Banks in high spirits, laughing and enjoying each other’s company.
Their reunion comes shortly after Wizkid made a surprise visit to Reekado’s newly opened lounge, Above Lifestyle, in Lagos. Reekado Banks, whose real name is Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, personally greeted Wizkid at the entrance, exchanging warm pleasantries before leading him inside, further fueling talk of a long-overdue reconciliation.
The Ozumba Mbadiwe crooner warmly embraced Wizkid, and the two were later seen sipping drinks and chatting like old friends. Their reconciliation comes nearly four years after Wizkid publicly called out Reekado Banks on X (formerly Twitter), branding him a “clout animal” for attempting to release their joint track during the height of the #EndSARS protests in 2020. The song eventually dropped without Wizkid’s verse, leading to years of silence between them. Now, it seems all is forgiven, and fans are buzzing with excitement, wondering if a new collaboration is on the way.
Wizkid has been fully active in Nigeria since December 2024, performing at major concerts following the release of his sixth studio album, Morayo, a heartfelt tribute to his late mother. The Grammy-winning artist is also gearing up for his Morayo tour, with several dates already confirmed, making this reunion with Reekado Banks even more intriguing.
