Abuja – Comrade Timi Frank, former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has urged Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to halt his recent attacks on political figures, particularly elders, warning that such behaviour could jeopardise his future aspirations.

Frank responded sharply to Wike’s criticisms of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Governor Peter Odili, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, in a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday.

Frank called Wike’s actions “gross disrespect” and urged him to behave properly and respect his elders, regardless of political differences.

Frank stated that Wike requires “thorough soul searching, character and mental re-examination,” claiming that his age does not justify insulting those older than him, such as Odili and Uche Secondus.

He suggested Wike’s behaviour could be influenced by substance abuse and advised him to “stop the intake of intoxicants including his 40-year old whisky and seek medical attention.”

Frank also warned Wike against interfering with Rivers State’s governance, urging him to give Governor Fubara free reign. He accused Wike of trying to destabilise the state after leaving office.

The statement also suggested that Wike seek the help of a speech therapist to improve his public speaking skills.

Frank warned that Wike’s current approach may alienate him from President Bola Tinubu and other supporters, mirroring his treatment of those who helped him rise to prominence, such as Peter Odili, former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, and Rotimi Amaechi.

Frank concluded by stating that Wike’s current path could result in him “reaping what he has sown.”
