Yuletide: Afenifere Leader, Fasoranti, Felicitates, Condoles Families Of Stampede Victims
Chief Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere, a Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural and sociopolitical organisation, congratulated Nigerians on Yuletide and the New Year 2025.
According to a statement released by the organisation’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Jare Ajayi, Pa Fasoranti congratulated Nigerians on their Christmas celebrations and wished them a happy and fruitful new year.
“As we revel in the festive air that yuletide brings and we inch gradually into the new year, I pray that the Almighty God comforts us in our anxious moments, strengthens us where we are weak, and lights up our dark havens.”
While encouraging Nigerians, the Afenifere leader assured them that President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s various policies would benefit the people in the shortest possible time.
The nonagenarian went on to say that the new year will bring Nigerians a breath of fresh air and a better standard of living.
He expressed sympathy for the families of those killed in Ibadan, Okija, Anambra, and Abuja last week.
He also prayed for the quick recovery of those who were injured during the stampede in those areas. It should be noted that some people, including children, died during gatherings where palliative supplies were to be distributed.
“Our thoughts are with the families of the victims of these tragic events. We pray that the Almighty God will give them the strength to bear the losses, heal the wounded, and have mercy on the souls of those who died in the process,” he said.
