Aiyedatiwa Set To Win Ondo Governorship Election In Landslide, Claims All 18 LGAs Results
Akure, Ondo State – Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a resounding victory in the Ondo State governorship election, defeating his main challenger, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Agboola Ajayi.
Aiyedatiwa secured a commanding lead across all 18 local government areas of the state.
Preliminary results released show Aiyedatiwa garnering a total of 366,781 votes, significantly outpacing Ajayi’s 117,835 votes.
The APC candidate’s victory was particularly pronounced in several LGAs, including Akure South (APC: 32,969; PDP: 17,926), Owo (APC: 31,914; PDP: 4,740), and Okitipupa (APC: 26,811; PDP: 10,233).
Even in LGAs where the PDP traditionally enjoys some support, Aiyedatiwa maintained a substantial margin.
While the final official results are still pending, the early figures paint a clear picture of a decisive win for the incumbent governor.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been collating results, with earlier reports indicating delays in the process.
The election results demonstrate strong support for Aiyedatiwa and the APC across the state.
While complete results for all 18 LGAs are awaited, the available data highlights a significant victory for the ruling party.
Ajayi’s campaign, despite efforts to challenge Aiyedatiwa’s incumbency, failed to gain significant traction across the state.
Further updates are expected as INEC completes its collation of results from all polling units.
The outcome of this election solidifies the APC’s hold on power in Ondo State.
