Jigawa APC Condemns Attack On State Leaders, Warns Against Crisis-Mongering
DUTSE, JIGAWA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) Jigawa state chapter has issued a strong warning against attempts to destabilise the party through smear campaigns and instigation of internal conflict.
In a press statement signed by Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, the state party chairman, the APC vehemently condemned recent attacks on party leaders, particularly the Hon. Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
Gumel stated that the party has been closely monitoring social media and mainstream media platforms for signs of orchestrated attempts to sow discord within the APC.
He identified “unscrupulous elements” and “narrow-minded party members” as being used by external actors to undermine the party’s unity and stability.
“These individuals are not even card-carrying members of our party, yet they are employing underhanded tactics to advance their agenda,” Gumel asserted.
The statement emphasised the unwavering support and respect the Jigawa APC holds for both Governor Malam Umar Namadi and his predecessor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.
They stressed the importance of safeguarding the leaders’ reputations, recognizing their contributions to the party and the state.
The party dismissed the allegations against Minister Abubakar, labeling them as “flabbergasted sponsored reports.”
The statement highlighted the Minister’s pivotal role in the 2023 general election as the APC Northern Region Campaign Coordinator, emphasising his successful delivery of Jigawa State and the entire region to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Gumel concluded the statement by assuring the public that the Jigawa APC will take decisive action to identify and punish those responsible for the malicious attacks.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability, ensuring that the current administration can effectively deliver on its promises to the people of Jigawa State.
“We will use all necessary avenues within the ambit of the law to bring those involved to justice.
“Their actions will not be tolerated, and we will make an example of them to deter others with similar mischief intentions,” Gumel declared.
The statement comes as a clear message of defiance from the Jigawa APC against attempts to disrupt the party’s unity and progress.
It remains to be seen how the party will proceed with its investigation and what measures it will take to counter the alleged smear campaign.
