Peter Obi Holds ‘Meaningful Conversations’ with Nigerian Diaspora In Houston
HOUSTON, TEXAS – Presidential candidate in 2023 and Labour Party leader, Peter Obi, continued his thank-you tour of the United States yesterday with a visit to Houston, Texas.
During his visit, Obi engaged in “meaningful conversations” with members of the Nigerian diaspora community, highlighting the importance of their support in building a “New Nigeria.”
In a post on his verified X account, Obi described the meeting as a “valuable opportunity to listen to Nigerians abroad and engage with them directly.”
He encouraged the diaspora to remain hopeful and contribute to the cause of a “just, equitable, and productive Nigeria.”
Drawing parallels to the contributions of diaspora communities in China, Japan, and India, Obi emphasised the critical role Nigerians abroad can play in the nation’s growth.
“To the Nigerians in Houston, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your support, which fuels our movement toward a just, equitable, and productive Nigeria,” Obi stated.
“Together, we are laying the foundation for a New Nigeria that is within reach.”
Obi’s message underscored the shared aspirations of Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora.
He emphasised the unifying goal of building “a nation we can be proud of, a nation that works for all Nigerians.”
“That great nation is possible and within our reach,” Obi concluded his message.
This visit is part of Obi’s ongoing tour of the United States, where he has been engaging with Nigerian communities and advocating for his vision for a transformed Nigeria.
