Peter Obi Rallies Nigerian Diaspora In Houston, Emphasizes Unity For ‘New Nigeria”
HOUSTON, TEXAS – Labour Party leader and 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi continued his “thank-you” tour of the United States with a visit to Houston, Texas, where he met with members of the Nigerian diaspora community.
In a post on his verified X account, Obi described the event as a “valuable opportunity” to engage directly with Nigerians abroad and listen to their concerns.
He emphasized the importance of unity and encouraged the diaspora to “keep the faith” and contribute to the cause of a “New Nigeria,” drawing parallels with how diaspora communities from other countries, including China, Japan, and India, have actively participated in their nations’ development.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your support, which fuels our movement toward a just, equitable, and productive Nigeria,” Obi wrote. “Together, we are laying the foundation for a New Nigeria that is within reach.”
Obi’s message resonated with the theme of unity and shared aspirations.
He stressed that both Nigerians at home and those living abroad are united by a common desire for a nation they can be proud of, a nation that “works for all Nigerians.”
His visit to Houston is seen as a continuation of his efforts to engage with the Nigerian diaspora, recognizing their vital role in the country’s future.
The event also provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration, building bridges between Nigerians living abroad and those in their homeland.
Obi’s commitment to diaspora engagement and his vision for a “New Nigeria” have resonated with many Nigerians both within the country and abroad.
His continued travels and outreach efforts suggest a strong focus on uniting the nation and building a future where all Nigerians can thrive.
