Borno Governor, Zulum To Keynote Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Annual Award Lecture

Maiduguri, THE NEWSHAUS – Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has been invited to serve as a special guest of honour and keynote speaker at the 5th edition of the annual Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Award Lecture.

The event, themed The Nigeria Governance Model, Prosperity & Prospective, will take place on November 16, 2024, at Zik Hall of the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.

Dr. Chineme Onyeke, Director-General of the Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe Annual Lecture/Merit Award, extended the invitation in a letter to Governor Zulum.

The letter highlighted the lecture series’ objective to promote national unity and integration, a cause championed by Dr. Azikiwe, the first indigenous President of Nigeria.

It also noted the award’s recognition of outstanding Nigerians and institutions.

The letter stated, “In the objective judgment of the NEC and BoT, you are considered one of the most important transformational governors not only in Borno State but the whole country.

” It’s, therefore, our honour and privilege to nominate Your Excellency for the Keynote Speech.”

This nomination follows Governor Zulum’s previous recognition for his work in security management, having received an award from the Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Annual Lecture/Merit Award organisation approximately two years ago.

Governor Zulum, a figure known for his tireless efforts in rebuilding Borno State amidst the ongoing security challenges, will also be a lead speaker at the Qatar Security Conference in Doha, Qatar, in December 2024.

This invitation marks a significant recognition of Governor Zulum’s contributions and leadership, and his insights on the topic of Nigeria’s governance model are expected to be highly insightful at the upcoming lecture.
