Matawalle Briefs President Tinubu On Security Gains In North-West, Commends Military

ABUJA, THE NEWSHAUS – The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle, today briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the recent progress made in combating insecurity in the North-West region.

During the briefing, Dr. Matawalle highlighted the significant successes achieved by the Nigerian Military, specifically praising the dedication and professionalism of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

“They will continue to play a critical role in safeguarding our nation,” he emphasized.

The Minister’s visit to Sokoto State, accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff and other military chiefs, resulted in the elimination of several bandit leaders, including Halilu Buzu Sububu.

This decisive action demonstrated the government’s commitment to eradicating banditry and terrorism in the region.

Dr. Matawalle commended President Tinubu for his administration’s commitment to providing the necessary resources to maintain operational efficiency in the fight against security threats.

He further reiterated the government’s resolve to bolster the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) capacity as a key component of the strategic counter-insurgency efforts.

The Minister’s operational visit to Sokoto State aimed to reaffirm the Federal Government’s dedication to restoring peace and security in the North-West.

He called on residents of Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi States to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces to ensure the success of ongoing operations.
