Aviation Minister Keyamo Secures TETFund Support For Africa Aviation And Aerospace University
ABUJA, NIGERIA – Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, SAN, met with the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Architect Sonny Achono, to secure continued financial support for the Africa Aviation and Aerospace University.
The meeting, held yesterday, centred on accelerating the completion of the university’s permanent site and supporting staff development.
During the meeting, Minister Keyamo expressed his gratitude for TETFund’s past support of the AAAU, highlighting its crucial role in the university’s progress.
He emphasised the need for continued investment in the university to ensure its successful development and its ability to contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s aviation industry.
In response, Architect Achono reassured the Minister of TETFund’s ongoing commitment to the AAAU’s development. He pledged the organization’s continued support in both infrastructural development and capacity-building initiatives.
The meeting signifies a strong collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Aviation and TETFund in fostering a thriving aviation ecosystem in Nigeria.
This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in equipping the AAAU with the resources necessary to develop highly skilled professionals for the burgeoning African aviation and aerospace industry.
The Africa Aviation and Aerospace University, established in 2018, is the first university in Africa dedicated to the study of aviation and aerospace.
Its mission is to produce highly skilled professionals capable of addressing the growing demands of the African aviation and aerospace sector.
The university offers a range of academic programs, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in aviation-related fields.
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) is a Nigerian government agency responsible for providing funding for public tertiary institutions in the country.
TETFund’s funding supports various initiatives, including infrastructure development, research and development, and staff training.
The continued support from TETFund for the AAAU is expected to significantly enhance Nigeria’s aviation industry. The university’s development will produce a highly skilled workforce, which will be critical for the growth of the sector.
The AAAU is also positioned to become a center of excellence for research and development in aviation and aerospace, contributing to the advancement of the industry in Africa.
