Hipopotamus Attack Fisherman Again In Kebbi

Just one week after a wild hippopotamus attacked and killed a fisherman on the Yauri river bank in Kebbi’s Yauri local government area, another fisherman, Alhaji Dan ya,u from Tunga Dan ya,u, was killed by a wild hippopotamus on the same Yauri river in Kebbi.

According to Alkasim Haruna Abarshi, the fisherman was fishing in the river when he was attacked by a wild hippo without provocation.

The victim is in critical condition at Yauri General Hospital as a result of the hippotamus’ brutal unprovoked attack.

Hon. Abubakar Shuaibu, manager, executive Chairman, Yauri local government area of Kebbi state, who visited the victim at the hospital, sympathised with him and prayed for his quick recovery.

While describing the victim’s condition as critical, he pledged to assist him in any way he could.

He also advised fishermen in the area to take precautions by studying the river areas before embarking on their fishing business.

Last week, a nursing hippotamus attacked and killed a fisherman while fishing in the Yauri River.
