President Tinubu Delivers Independence Day Address, Outlines Phantom Economic, Security Plans
Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu, in his first Independence Day address, has acknowledged the hardship faced by Nigerians, assuring them that his administration is committed to finding solutions.
He outlined his administration’s progress in security, economic reform, and youth empowerment.
President Tinubu declared a victory in the war against terrorism and banditry, stating that over 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders have been eliminated in the past year.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to restoring peace to troubled communities in the North, allowing farmers to return to their fields and boosting food production.
The President highlighted the successful attraction of over $30 billion in foreign direct investment in the past year. He underscored the importance of fiscal policy reforms, mentioning the approval of the Economic Stabilization Bills aimed at stimulating investment and creating jobs.
He also addressed the issue of rising food costs, promising measures to reduce the cost of living. The President lauded the efforts of some states in agricultural production and announced the establishment of a local assembly plant for farm equipment to boost local production.
President Tinubu emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and announced a 30-day National Youth Conference to address challenges and opportunities for young people.
He highlighted the government’s initiatives like the 3 million Technical Talents program and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund aimed at creating opportunities for young Nigerians.
The President reiterated the importance of unity and social cohesion, emphasizing that “our economy can only thrive when there is peace.”
He urged Nigerians to believe in the country’s promise and to work together to build a brighter future.
President Tinubu’s address focused on hope and progress, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to addressing economic challenges and security threats.
