The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) appears to be on track for victory in Anambra State’s ongoing Local Government chairmanship and councillorship elections, despite a boycott by other political parties.

While voting started late in most polling stations across the state due to delays in the arrival of Anambra State Independent Electoral Commissioner (ANSIEC) adhoc staff and materials, APGA members were the primary participants, indicating a clear boycott by other parties. Several parties are currently contesting the validity of the polls in various courts.

Despite the boycott, APGA’s embattled National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, fulfilled his civic duty by voting at polling unit 007, Otumoye, Fegge Ward 4, Onitsha South LGA.
