Amaechi Never Said He Regretted Joining APC; Ignore Fake, Malicious Report–Party Chieftain
Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has flatly denied a trending report authored by one faceless media rapscallion called Ibeh, claiming that former Rivers Governor and ex-Transportation Minister Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi regrets joining the All Progressives Congress.
The fabricated report, which was tactically embellished with summary issues to curry public legitimacy, was deceptively coined in a tone that suggests it came from the former Rivers Governor, although the writer and his source have no connection to the ruling APC’s south-south leader.
In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze, a close ally and confidant of the former Transportation Minister, stated that Amaechi never had a media audience with any faceless character, nor did he authorise anyone anywhere to fabricate such falsehood as the report depicts, emphasising that the ex-Governor of Rivers State has no regrets about building and nurturing the APC into a formidable political bloc.
Emphasising that leadership failure has little or nothing to do with a political party in the Nigerian context, the APC Chief said Amaechi, like every other Nigerian, regrets the odious insensitivity of the ruling class to the plight of the ordinary people of the country and the difficult times the loud negligence of government holds as a consequence, but maintained that the author of the vague piece in circulation is on his frolics, as he did so on his own.
Eze went on to say that “as an outstanding stakeholder within the political family of the erstwhile Governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation, I read with great disdain the fabricated falsehood by Ibeh, that Amaechi regrets joining and expanding APC, and all other rubbish he stated in his false report.”
Ordinarily, I would not have decided to join forces with demented, unscrupulous, and undemocratic satanic merchants based on their ill-fated assumption about the political life of Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Doing so will undoubtedly glorify detractors, backstabbers, and habitual blackmailers such as Ibeh, who are threatened by Amaechi’s silence on affairs of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
However, as a progressive, humane, and grassroots-oriented politician, and given that Amaechi is one of the key political gladiators who founded the APC and eventually wrested power from the Peoples Democratic Party, I am compelled to correct the record.
For the sake of posterity, I have decided to make this clarification so as not to stroke the political egos of ungrateful allies, as remaining silent would send a dangerous signal to the APC family and the country’s politics.
Following the foregoing, I boldly state that Amaechi’s silence in our great party’s affairs is solely a personal matter based on self-convictions. It has come to my attention that there was an orchestrated mischief and a deliberate but concerted effort to malign and condemn Amaechi in the public eye. The aforementioned report attributed to Amaechi, to say the least, is the work of denigrated political charlatans and their sponsors who are hellbent on destroying a hand that once fed them. Amaechi is a complete party man, a strategist, and a proactive and focused politician who would never condescend to publicly rant on issues that would jeopardise the APC’s growth and existence, as well as intraparty politics.
In light of the foregoing, I caution those peddling such deceptive reports to stop wasting their time trying to force Amaechi to speak. Amaechi, contrary to popular belief, has no regrets about joining the APC.
All of these are devilish acts by disgruntled elements attempting to attribute statements never made by Amaechi to him following his long silence. His decision to remain silent in the political scheme of things does not in any way imply that he regrets joining APC.
I drew Amaechi’s attention to the false report, which he vehemently denied, claiming that he had never met the diabolical Ibeh, let alone discussed anything with him about what he perceived to be his trial at the hands of APC leadership. Amaechi stated, “I did not say that rubbish.”
I must state that I am fully aware of the sponsor of such a diabolical act aimed at demeaning Amaechi’s person and personality in front of the public, but it is a futile exercise.
I understand that many people are upset about Amaechi’s continued silence on political issues affecting our country, but using falsehoods like this type of report to force him to speak about his future political mission is a waste of time because he is enjoying his rest, which has made some enemies of this country uncomfortable.
Let me state unequivocally that Amaechi did not speak or was interviewed by the mysterious Ibeh because he has no regrets about joining the APC and leading it to victory. He has no regrets about making history by transforming Nigeria’s rail transport system, nor does he regret bringing Buhari to power.
I advise those behind the fabricated falsehood aimed at denting Amaechi’s hard-earned political image to leave him alone until such a time as he needs to address the nation accordingly.
All of this is an attempt by some undesirable scrapyard snakes in green grass to attribute statements never made by Amaechi to him.
I repeat for the umpteenth time: Amaechi’s decision to remain silent does not imply that he regrets joining the APC.
