Adamawa Assembly Receives State Auditor-General’s Report.
The Adamawa State House of Assembly has received the State Auditor General’s report on the accounts of the Adamawa State Government for the year ended December 31, 2023, which was submitted by Auditor General Usman Ahmed on July 19, 2024.
The report was presented to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided over Monday’s resumed plenary following a motion moved by the majority leader of the House, Hon. Mrs. Kate Raymond Mamuno of Demsa constituency.
The Adamawa State House of Assembly received the State Auditor General’s report on the Adamawa State Government’s accounts for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023, which was submitted by Auditor General Usman Ahmed on July 19, 2024.
According to the report, the Accountant General of the State prepared the Financial Statements following International Public Sector Accounting Standards, cash basis, and the standard template for General Purpose Financial Statements.
The report reveals that the improvements recorded were the result of strict adherence to established rules and procedures, and promises that the State Treasury Office will not rest on its laurels.
After considering the importance of the report, Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley referred it to the House Committee on Public Accounts for further action, with a report expected within two weeks.
