Kamala Harris Considers Hiding Laugh Because Of ‘Political Risk Of Cheerfulness’–Report
Kamala Harris worried so much about Donald Trump’s attempts to ridicule her laugh that she privately considered hiding her sense of humour from the public, according to a new report.
The vice president boasts of having “my mother’s laugh,” and videos of her trademark guffaws became a meme that Trump and his supporters attempted to exploit.
At a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 20, the Republican presidential nominee jeered, “I call her laughing Kamala. Have you noticed her laughing? She is crazy. A laugh can convey a lot of information. “She is nuts.”
On his Truth Social account, he addressed Harris as “Laffin” Kamala.
Trump: Kamala. I call her laughing Kamala. Have you seen her laugh? She is crazy. A laugh can convey a lot of information. She is nuts. She is not as crazy as Nancy Pelosi.
The New York Times reported that when conservative media mocked her laughter after becoming vice president, she had to consider “the political risks of cheerfulness.”
She privately asked confidants if she should laugh or express her sense of humour.
According to two sources familiar with the discussions, Harris’ aides told her that she should never stop laughing.
And now it appears that Harris has the last laugh, at least in terms of the success of her joyful campaign strategy.
In Detroit on Wednesday, Tim Walz expressed optimism towards his Republican opponents, stating, “The one thing I will not forgive them for is trying to steal the joy from this country.” But you know what? Our next president spreads joy. “She radiates joy.”
Walz has successfully pitched the idea that Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, are “weird,” and he has asked why Trump never laughs.
“If he laughed, it was at someone, not with them. That is strange behaviour. And I do not think you are calling it anything else. “It is simply what we are seeing,” he explained.
In 2016, CNN’s Gregory Krieg questioned Trump’s ability to laugh.
“He certainly makes jokes. He smiles, winks, puckers, and preens. Despite promising to stop “them” from laughing at him, Trump uses humour to engage his audience. “But how about a booming, sustained cackle from his belly?”
For the time being, Kamala has learnt to trust her sense of humour, whereas Trump appears to have little to laugh about.
However, the real test will occur after Tuesday, November 5. At that point, only one of them will laugh.
