Nigeria Postpones Recruitment For Fire, Immigration Services Until September
The Nigerian government has denied that it is planning to begin recruiting for the Fire and Immigration Services, claiming that such a plan will not be implemented until September.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Secretary to the Board, Ja’afaru Ahmed, urged Nigerians to disregard reports in online publications claiming that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board was planning to launch a recruitment exercise for the Nigeria Immigration Service and Federal Fire Service.
The statement read: “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board has been drawn to several online publications on recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Federal Fire Service, respectively.”
“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to inform the general public that the Board is currently conducting a recruitment process for the Federal Fire Service only, with the next stage of the exercise beginning in August and ending before the end of September 2024.”
The Board began the recruitment process for the Federal Fire Service in 2023 and recently announced that the exercise would conclude in September 2024.
