Oborevwori Honours 97-Year-Old Elder Statesman, Edwin Clark

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated Ijaw National leader and renowned elder statesman, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, on his 97th birthday.

In an Asaba statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor praised the statesman for his contributions to the advancement of the Niger Delta and Nigeria.

Governor Oborevwori stated that leaders at the national and sub-national levels have continued to benefit from Chief Clark’s astute advice on matters concerning the country and the Niger Delta.

According to the Governor, “It is truly admirable how much Chief Clark contributed to the resolution of conflicts in the Niger Delta,” and the people of the region and the country will be grateful to the elder statesman.

He stated that Pa Clark was still a tenacious and ardent nationalist with legendary zeal for his people’s interests and the peaceful coexistence of Nigerians.

“On behalf of the Delta Government and people, I extend heartfelt congratulations to our father and leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, on his 97th birthday.
